Although most adults working with children and young people feel that it is their responsibility to keep kids safe, many report that they do not always have the skills or resources to do so.

In this section, we provide tools, activities and other resources that organisations and practitioners can use to:

  • reflect on practice, as an individual or in a team, to identify ways that to prevent harm to children and young people and respond when they experience abuse
  • reflect on and enhance practice
  • communicate with children, young people, parents and the community about safety and child safe strategies
  • engage with children and young people to promote child safety, identify their worries, concerns and needs, and empower children to be part of the discussion about safety in your organisation.
