Lecturer, ACU School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine
Sandra has 25 years of experience teaching paediatric and child health nurses in tertiary and health care settings, as well as more recent experience as a part-time Research Fellow at the Nursing Research and Practice Development Centre at The Prince Charles Hospital.
Sandra is a registered nurse with qualifications including a Bachelor of Nursing, a Master of Nursing, as well as an accredited Child and Young People’s Nurse. Sandra is also in the final stages of her PhD, investigating sensory and motor interventions for very early school-age children.
Sandra’s specialises in teaching postgraduate nursing for neonatal, paediatric and child health nurses. Within her postgraduate nursing teaching, she has been a clinical and academic champion for safeguarding children, which has included co-authoring an online module Child Protection situated within the Child and Adolescent Health specialty of a unit in the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing.
